GGA has completed the process of verifying the compliance of its products with minimum environmental criteria (CAM).
The minimum environmental criteria (CAM) are the environmental requirements defined for the various stages of the procurement process, aimed at identifying the best design solution, product or service from an environmental point of view throughout its life cycle, taking into account market availability. They are defined within the framework of the plan for environmental sustainability of consumption in the public administration sector.
Their systematic and uniform application allows for the dissemination of environmental technologies and environmentally preferable products and has a leverage effect on the market, encouraging less virtuous economic operators to adapt to the new requirements of the public administration. The Public Procurement Code (Legislative Decree 50/2016) and subsequent amendments and additions have made the application of CAM mandatory for all contracting authorities.
In addition to promoting environmental quality and compliance with social criteria, the application of minimum environmental criteria also meets the public administration's need to rationalise its consumption, reducing expenditure where possible.
